COUNTY ROAD MAINTENANCE BEHIND SCHEDULE, PATIENCE URGED
Doña Ana County is approximately 10 weeks behind on regular road maintenance and construction as a result of repair work necessitated by heavy summer flooding. Doña Ana County has more than 1,500 miles of roads in its inventory, only about 500 miles of which are paved roads.

DOÑA ANA COUNTY TEMPORARILY UNABLE TO ASSIST HANDICAPPED VOTERS
Doña Ana County is presently unable to supply visually and other disabled voters casting early votes with a special ballot marking machine because a key component for the machine - the programming disc - has not been received from the vendor hired by the state to produce it. The problem is affecting all 33 counties in New Mexico.

COUNTY OFFICES TO CLOSE FOR COLUMBUS DAY HOLIDAY
Most Doña Ana County offices will be closed Monday, Oct. 9, 2006, to allow employees to observe the Columbus Day holiday. Emergency services and law enforcement will not be affected.
