90-DAY BURN BAN AND FIRE RESTRICTIONS SET IN PLACE

Citing severe drought conditions across southern New Mexico, Doña Ana County Fire Marshal Robert Monsivaiz asked the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners Tuesday to enact an emergency ordinance to ban all open burning and restrict other uses of fire and ignition sources – including smoking – for the next 90 days.

COUNTY OFFICES ANNOUNCE HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

Most Dona Ana County offices will be closed Monday, May 28, 2012, to allow employees to observe the Memorial Day holiday. Emergency services and law enforcement in the field will not be affected, but the administrative offices of the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department will be closed for the day.
