COMMISSION TO MAKE SENATE SEAT RECOMMENDATION
At its Jan. 11 meeting, the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners will decide on a recommendation to New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez regarding filling the District 40 Senate seat, which covers portions of both Otero and Doña Ana Counties.

COUNTY OFFICES ANNOUNCE HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
Most Dona Ana County offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, to allow employees to observe the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday. HOLIDAY SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED FOR COUNTY OFFICES, TRANSFER STATIONS
Most Doña Ana County office will be closed Friday, Dec. 31, and Monday, Jan. 3, to allow employees time with their families during the New Year’s holiday. The administrative offices of the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department will be closed, but law enforcement and emergency services in the field will be continuous.

CHAPARRAL SUBSTATION SUSPENDS COUPON SALES
With a key person on holiday leave, solid-waste coupon sales have been suspended at the Chaparral substation of the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department. Coupon sales at that location will resume Jan. 4, 2011. The Doña Ana County Utilities Department apologizes for any inconvenience.
